Job Title: DFG Technical Officer (Contract) Location Staffordshire Duration of assignment: 6 months Working hours: 37 hours per week Rate: Up to £23.08 (PAYE) or £30 (Umbrella) per hour , **if you are looking for a higher please don't dismiss the role. ( talk to me ) ** Our client a large Local Authority have an immediate requirement for a DFG Surveyor THE ROLE : To contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of Disabled Facilities Grants and any other financial assistance offered by the Council. To provide advice and support to older or disabled people and other vulnerable individuals who wish to repair, adapt or improve their homes. Provide an appropriate service for the benefit of customers and colleagues from the referral stage through to completion of works. Visit clients in their own homes, providing the required level of advice and information, maintaining regular contact with them at each stage of the case. Ensure that the client understands and is kept informed of all procedures and practices involved with their particular circumstances. Book appointments to visit applicants in their own homes to complete all DFG application forms, and financial means test forms and collect confidential and sensitive personal financial and health data from applicants and keep this secure at all times. Examine and interrogate financial data and where necessary challenge information in order to prevent fraudulent grant applications being made. Use software packages to conduct means testing for DFG applicants. Participate in on-site scheme feasibility studies to ascertain how best to adapt a property to meet an applicant's needs this will require problem solving skills in order to offering constructive suggestions regarding problems encountered. this role is for 6 months and can offer an immediate start.
