FDM is a global business and technology consultancy looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer in Chester to work for our client within the financial services sector.


We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer who is not only an excellent engineer but is also a problem solver.

Working for the Consumer Finance Platform of our client and specifically in the Loans Lab.

You will be able to turn requirements into functional solutions when delivering change and capability across the application estate.

You time will be spent amongst short term delivery related-tasks, strategic initiatives, problem-solving, planning, and personal development, as well as leading others.


Responsibilities:


  • Understand a complete technical stack with primary skills in DevOps tooling (Jenkins, Urban Code, SonarQube, GIT, etc.) and associated scripting languages (Pearl, Shell, etc.)
  • Code with any experience in Java and deploying microservices to GCP. Oracle PL/SQL and shell scripting in Linux would be beneficial
  • Proven ability to design, implement and maintain continuous integration and delivery pipelines
  • Ensure security best practice is at the centre of what you do
  • Identify what ‘good’ looks like and can define technical standards, based on best practice and their own experience
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring and knowledge sharing across the team
  • Comfortable with agile tools to manage activity (JIRA and Confluence)
  • Understanding of governance to ensure we deliver changes safely for our business and customers
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, LBG strategic tooling and best practice methodologies and technologies
  • Happy to support out of hours implementations
