Essex Highways is responsible for managing and maintaining one of the largest highway networks in the country: 5,000 miles of roads and around 5,000 miles of footways.

Essex Highways is a delivery partnership between Essex County Council and our contractual partner.




Forming part of the Members Highway Initiative team, the role is office based.

The post holder will be responsible for the accuracy of project reporting as well as liaising with day to day data administration tasks with the Highways Inspections team.


The Role


• Provide administrative support to the Member Highways Initiative project through using Confirm to ensure weekly reporting is correct.



• To carry out a regular weekly regime of system checking of the works delivered by the programme.



• To provide assurance that business processes are being followed and surface any issues as well as correcting where needed.



• Provide wider support to the team when needed



• Assist with client data or audit requests as appropriate



• Provide daily administrative data support to the Highways Inspections Team



• Monitor and respond to incoming customer enquiries



• Carry out system checking and correction to ensure data integrity



About You


• Prior administrative experience



• Good standard of literacy and numeracy with previous experience of using Excel and Outlook



• Good at problem solving, analytical, consistent decision making and accurate approach



• Build and maintain strong, effective and collaborative working relationships with colleagues and other internal teams
