Turner Lovell is currently recruiting a Control & Automation Engineer with Dynamic Positioning (DP) experience for a leading engineering & manufacturing company at the forefront of power conversion and electrification of the world’s energy infrastructure. They produce electrical and mechanical equipment for industrial, marine and renewable energy application.

In this role, you will focus on software design, implementation, and testing of Dynamic Positioning (DP) and automation systems for offshore and naval applications.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design automations systems for offshore/marine dynamic positioning systems.
  • Functional design of HMI, PLC architecture, networks, communication interfaces.
  • Execute full engineering lifecycle for delivering compliant DP/Automation systems.
  • Plan and ensure on-time, cost-effective, quality project delivery including testing/documentation.
  • PLC coding using IEC 61131-3 languages (such as Ladder diagram, Function block diagram).
  • Design, implement, and test simulations that mimic industrial processes by utilizing HMI and SCADA software packages.
  • Collaborate on equipment drawings, wiring diagrams, interconnections.

Ideal background:

  • Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Industrial Controls or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in designing, testing and programming automations of Dynamic Positioning systems or similar redundant systems.
  • Strong understanding of PLC (IEC61131) and HMI/SCADA programming skills.
  • Experience in control/instrumentation, mechanical/electrical packaging for automation.
  • Chartered Engineer status or pursuing chartership.
  • Knowledge of industrial protocols - Modbus, OPC-UA, Profibus, Profinet.
  • Willing to secure basic security clearance.
