Job Overview


Hanover is an APSCo certified recruitment business specialising in Digital, Data & Technology contract engagements with Public Sector clients. We are a small team, currently punching above our weight in terms of contractor numbers and annual revenue, on a journey to scale significantly over the coming two years.


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Recruitment Compliance Manager to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring that our business operations continue to comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards. You will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance policies and procedures. Additionally, you will provide advice and guidance to our staff, contractors, clients, and supply chain on compliance matters and liaise with external legal advisors, auditors, and regulators when necessary.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive compliance framework covering Conduct Regs, AWR, IR35, data protection, ISO 9001, umbrella company audits to ensure supply chain compliance, background screening and security clearance, contractual obligations, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain records of contracts and legal agreements, ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Maintaining schedule of insurances and supporting the annual renewal process.
  • Conducting compliance checks when onboarding contractors (eg opt-out forms, insurances etc…)
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues or gaps.
  • Collaborate with leadership and other departments to create new procedures and training plans.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to staff, clients, and contractors on compliance requirements and expectations.
  • Stay updated on the latest changes in employment law regulations and standards, communicating them to relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports and documentation to management, the board, and external parties as required.
  • Review and adapt processes based on feedback.
  • Address compliance queries, complaints, or investigations promptly and professionally.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with contractors, clients, supply chain, legal advisors, auditors, and regulators.
  • Identify areas where compliance standards aren't being met and suggest improvements.
  • Assess potential commercial and compliance risks in future business ventures.
  • Write articles and blogs on various legal and compliance-related topics.


Skills and Qualifications


  • At least 5 years of experience in a recruitment compliance role, preferably within the Public Sector or consulting industry.
  • Preferably a bachelor's degree
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
