Compensation Accountant

Location: London/Hybrid 

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 6pm

Salary: £57,500

Role Overview

This Compensation Accountant role will be part of our growing Finance team and will be reporting directly to the Head of Business Improvement.

The role is primarily responsible for the day-to-day accounting requirements and updating remuneration schemes in union with the Commissions Analyst.

In this role, you will work closely with M&A and manage many processes, policies and changes of remunerations for employees, performed through adhoc work and the use of custom-made excel model.

Responsibilities

  •  Process M&A staff remuneration payments to payroll during the transition phase until employees are integrated into existing remuneration schemes.
  • Collaborate with the other Commission Analyst within the Finance department.
  • Operate components of current remuneration models and provide support to employees.
  • Ensure changes are accurately defined and tested in the model before implementation.
  • Import commission and bonus payments into payroll.
  • Review HR/Recruitment workflow correspondence through emails and reporting records.
  • Manage the remuneration reconciliation process, including researching and resolving issues and disputes.
  • Review monthly reconciliation of banking data.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests and remuneration-related inquiries.
  • Distribute remuneration statements to employees.
  • Upload targets and performance data to the Dashboard.
  • Maintain regular contact with Senior Management, keeping them informed and addressing their requests.
  • Review and prepare monthly remuneration calculations for accruals for management accounts.
  • Update the payroll month-end close model for review and approval by stakeholders.
  • Conduct payroll headcount reporting

Essential Requirements

  • Over 3 years of experience in industry, remuneration, sales operations, and payroll.
  • Partially qualified in an accounting qualification.
  • Knowledge of HR and payroll processes.
  • Understanding and experience with sales remuneration structures and mechanics (e.g., targeting, tiered systems, rolling averages, multipliers, accelerators, minimum thresholds, capping, and KPIs).
  • Proficient in managing multiple business entities, mergers, and acquisitions.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (essential), including proven experience with pivot tables, complex formulas, lookup functions, and macros.
  • Experience with SAP and Workday is desirable but not essential.
