Salary: £165,000 - £195,000 + Bonus + Equity

The company is about to complete its Series B fundraise with both private equity and established venture capital investors, positioning it for significant growth and innovation. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to drive financial strategy and impact the future of a pioneering player in the genomic healthcare sector as it advances its groundbreaking research to the next phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial strategy, planning, and analysis to support research, development, and business growth.
  • Oversee financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Manage relationships with private equity partners, venture capital investors, regulatory bodies, auditors, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Lead M&A activities, including target identification, due diligence, negotiation, and integration.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors.

Requirements:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA Qualified
  • Proven experience as a CFO or senior financial executive in a private equity (or VC) backed business within the life sciences or biotech sector.
  • Fundraise experience preferable
  • Previous exposure to mergers and acquisitions (M&A), including deal structuring, due diligence, and post-merger integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive financial performance and operational efficiencies in a research-driven, innovative industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership and external partners.
