We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Stores Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will assist the Stores Controller with day-to-day tasks and the focus of the role is the supply of stock, stock quality checks, and managing inbound/outbound materials. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our stores and manufacturing operations and requires a responsible individual who can work well under pressure.


EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

• Great attention to detail

• Responsible, highly motivated, and flexible individual

Advantageous:

• Forklift licence – willing to have a refresher course

• Experience of stock control

• Clean UK driving license


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

STOCK CONTROL

• Efficiently pick jobs for customers and despatch with all appropriate paperwork.

• Storing and rotating stock according to established procedures.

• Reporting any damaged or missing goods.

• Updating and maintaining the stock control system, including labelling stock.


WAREHOUSE

• Keeping the warehouse environment clean and tidy and maintaining equipment.

• Assisting with warehouse inventory controls.

• Movement of stock/materials between units and suppliers.

• Processing and filing delivery notes and other paperwork as required.


QUALITY CONTROL

• Evaluate incoming materials, extrusions and components from suppliers to ensure they meet the required quality standards. (Measure and confirm dimensions are correct using basic technical drawings).

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality.

• Work towards minimizing defects.

• Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and other quality-related activities.

• Prepare reports summarizing quality issues and inspection results.

• Identify defects or non-conformities in materials, powder coating, components, or finished products and document findings for QC manager.


HEALTH, SAFETY & PROCESS MANAGEMENT

• Contribute to the review of processes, method statements and risk assessments and ensure that these are implemented and monitored appropriately.

• Assist with basic Health & Safety checklists/inspections.
