The Recruitment Co are currently working with a public sector body who are currently seeking an Assistant Scientific Officer in the Media Preparation Section. Main Duties * The work programme of Bacteriology Branch includes statutory, analytic and research work on the major bacterial pathogens of animal and public health significance. * The Media Preparation section (Bacteriology)provides a range of agars and diluents to various laboratories in house. This ASO will be working as part of a team and the duties include. 1. Routine daily checks on equipment and media 2. Collating the weekly orders and prioritising work 3. Preparation of the required, mainly automated integrated media preparation systems. 4. Using a range of equipment to produce the diluents required. 5. Completion of the required records/paperwork * Please note – In-house training will be provided / Manual handling is required as part of the job duties. Personal Protective Equipment and relevant training will be provided. * The work is either certified to ISO9001 or accredited to ISO17025, which requires officers to have a stable, structured, recorded and audited approach to training and work practices. * This post is based in Bacteriology Branch.
