Are you looking to kickstart your creative career? We have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Photographer to join our team.


Highly enthusiastic and detail-oriented, you’ll assist with photography and videography activities, both at our inhouse studio in Nottingham and on location.


Working on Ecommerce photography shoots, and on occasion assisting on other creative projects, this role requires photographic skill, incredible attention to detail, a pro-active attitude, great organisational skills, and the ability to work in an energetic and fast paced studio.


You’ll administer, organise, and schedule all our photographic needs to ensure we hit our deadlines whilst maintaining the high standard of production we expect to keep our visual representation of each of our brands looking fantastic. Excellent communication skills are a must as you’ll collaborate with different people across many departments.


Your Role:

Some of the responsibilities of this exciting opportunity include:


Efficient Studio Operations:

  • Coordinate and schedule studio and on-location photo shoots under the direction of the Studio Manager and the Buying and Marketing teams, ensuring that all necessary arrangements are made for the location, equipment, and personnel involved.

Workflow Coordination:

  • Work closely with the Operations and Buying Teams to manage all stock through the studio facility, ensure accurate system processing.
  • Maintain the asset library, keeping all asset logs up to date to ensure the wider marketing and creative team have a clear library of assets.
  • Liaise with models, chaperones, and external suppliers to ensure shoot and video days run to time and remain under control.
  • Check all shots against the shot list prior to the shoot ending to ensure everything has been captured.
  • Carry out basic reprographics to imagery when needed to ensure they are supplied correctly and to the highest quality.

Collaborative Relationships:

  • Act as a key liaison between the wider business and the studio, fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders in Creative, CX and People teams.
  • Have a flexible and agile approach to your work, to allow you to work across multiple projects being delivered simultaneously in the studio.

Cost Management:

  • Good financial control of external purchases through well-managed purchase order system to ensure optimum studio costs and maintain efficient operations. Raise purchase requisitions and ensure that they are signed off in a timely manner.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Ensure that all photography and video activities meet a high standard of quality and efficiency, this includes reviewing and approving the final output, as well as implementing processes to improve productivity and workflow, with direction from the Studio Manager.

Creative Support:

  • Assist with in-house creative shoots and maintain high standards across product and lifestyle photography and videography in line with the Findel brand guidelines.
  • Assist in other tasks where necessary including studio maintenance and asset cataloguing.
  • Assist in the delivery of 360-degree product imagery.
  • Act as assistant producer in video and podcast activity to ensure maximum efficiency is achieved on each day of filming.


About You

We are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:


  • A photography degree is essential at 2:1 or above.
  • Basic level Adobe creative suite knowledge is required.
  • Demonstrate a technical mind with the ability to identify problems.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work.
  • Assertive and confident with a proactive approach to work.
  • The most important part is your attitude, determination, and drive; be true to yourself and live our values – always
  • Experience of using Trello to manage workflow and projects desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, able to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Productivity focussed with an exceptional eye for detail.
  • Based at our Nottingham site and able to travel to locations as required.
  • Enhanced DBS Check to be obtained by Findel pre-employment
