About you:

Are you ready to take the next step in your finance career? We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable individual who can join us as our Assistant Financial Controller.

This is a great opportunity to join our rapidly growing Company and contribute to our continued financial success.

The role:

You will be working closely alongside the Financial Controller to support the preparation of financial statements that adhere to regulatory and accounting guidelines. You will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and promote accurate financial reporting and effective control.

More specifically, day to day will include:

  • Preparing Monthly Bank reconciliation’s.
  • Raising Invoicing contractors for network recharges and fines
  • Maintaining prepayments and accruals schedules on a monthly basis and posting the associated monthly journals.
  • Preparing the month end accounts and analysing them to the prior year and to the budget results.
  • Provide commentary on the KPI’s and overarching results.
  • Presenting the month end accounts to the FD & CFO explaining any variances.
  • Balance Sheet Recs for month end purposes
  • Reconciling the stock at month end and adjusting the final balances as part of the accruals and prepayment process.
  • Posting journals for the intercompany loans and expenses.
  • Taking Customer payments and dealing with customer queries.
  • Assist with the quarterly VAT return.
  • Assist with the weekly payment run.

Skills and experience

  • Proven experience as an Assistant Financial Controller or another similar position
  • Experience of budgeting and reporting processes
  • Prior experience with financial management systems, preferably Sage50
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office packages
  • Knowledge of GAAP and regulations
  • Good written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well organised and able to prioritise effectively to meet tight deadlines

Qualifications

  • BSc in Accounting, Finance or another relevant field
  • Preferably an accounting qualification or working towards (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
