We are looking for an ambitious Company Secretarial professional who is keen to take the next step in their career! If you have prior experience working in a listed company or regulated environment and are used to completing tasks to a high standard within a large, corporate setting, then we’d love to hear from you!

A bit about the job:

As an Assistant Company Secretary, you will support the Group Company Secretarial team, ensuring the provision of high-end company secretarial and corporate governance support.

You will be responsible for providing end-to-end support to a small portfolio of Aviva Group Centre entities, as well as supporting corporate transactions (as applicable), assisting with the preparation of external reporting including authoring and verifying corporate governance content within the Annual Report and Accounts, Climate-related Financial Disclosure, and Solvency and Financial Condition Report.

You will provide advice regarding the Companies Act, UK Corporate Governance Code, Listing Rules and Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules to ensure that we meet our listed company obligations, playing a key role in the Group’s Market Abuse Regulation compliance including the maintenance of Insider Lists and Confidential Lists and monitoring PDMR share dealing and permission to deal.

You will also support the Shareholder Services team on the Annual General Meeting and other shareholder matters, and support with Aviva plc risk management and controls.

The successful post-holder will need to be based a commutable distance from our London offices, as you will be required to visit this office up to 3 times per week.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Extensive company secretarial and corporate governance knowledge, gained from working for FTSE 250 companies previously.
  • Superb senior stakeholder management skills, confident communicating up to Executive/Director level.
  • Solid knowledge of company law, administration, and corporate governance, with a particular emphasis on the UK listed company environment. CGI qualified or part qualified preferred.
  • Excellent self-management i.e., the ability to work independently, making business critical decisions.
  • Attention to detail, matched with excellent presentation & report writing skills.
