Our teaching agency is currently seeking a creative and organised Art Technician to join a vibrant secondary school in Havering.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for the arts to support the smooth running of the Art department, starting immediately.

About the Role:

As an Art Technician, you will play a vital role in providing technical support to the Art department.

You will assist in the preparation of materials and resources for lessons, ensure the art studios are well-maintained, and support both teachers and students in creating an inspiring learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for art lessons
Assisting with the setup of practical lessons and demonstrations
Maintaining and organising art supplies, ensuring stock levels are managed
Ensuring the art studio and equipment are clean, safe, and ready for use
Assisting students and teachers during practical sessions
Supporting with displays of student artwork around the school
Managing and maintaining specialist art equipment such as kilns, printing presses, and other technical tools

Requirements:

Previous experience as an Art Technician or within a similar role
Strong knowledge of art materials, techniques, and equipment
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
A passion for art and creativity, with the desire to support young artists
A DBS certificate on the update service (or willingness to apply)
