The role:

The Accounts Senior role is a varied and rewarding and is responsible for controlling a client portfolio (under manager supervision) you will be responsible for leading audit assignments, accounts preparation and presentation, and associated tax work.

Your ‘go to’ person is the Accounts Supervisor and Manager , who will coach, support, and challenge you not only to succeed in your role but to realise your potential and career aspirations at EQ.

Key Responsibilities: 

In the Accounts Senior role, client exposure will be very varied but will include owner-managed and family businesses (including privately-owned companies), high net worth individuals etc.

Main Duties will include but are not limited to: 

  • Audit planning, supervising fieldwork, and completion 
  • Staff supervision and training 
  • Internal audit compliance within the firm 
  • Briefing staff and partners on changes to auditing standards and Financial Reporting Standards 
  • Control of upgrades to audit software 
  • Preparation of statutory accounts 
  • Business development
  • What you’ll need to be successful:

  • ACCA/CA Qualified
  • 1-3 years post qualified Public Practice Experience
  • Technically Competent in Audit/Taxation/Financial/ Business Development
  • Excellent communication skills and recent experience in public practice. 
  • Strong report writing skills are important for this role, as is a good knowledge of International Standards on Auditing and Financial Reporting Standards
  • Passion for auditing and adding value to client businesses.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate audit findings, recommendations, and accounting concepts clearly and concisely.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Computer literate with knowledge and experience of audit and practice management systems as well as the usual MS Office applications.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to effectively analyse and report on outcomes and issues.
