An exciting opportunity has become available to work in the Accommodation Team, within the Council’s Housing Needs Service.

The Housing Needs Service is responsible for preventing homelessness in Wakefield and providing support and assistance to those who are already homeless.




We are looking for an enthusiastic, motived and open minded person to join the team as an Accommodation Assistant.

This role involves being the first point of contact for enquiries coming into the service and providing administrative support to the Accommodation Team.

The role will also have some responsibilities for helping households express interest on housing available to them in the district using the choice based lettings system. 



The post of the Accommodation Assistant is a new one to the Service and offers the post holder an opportunity to work with vulnerable people in the Wakefield district.

No previous experience of working in housing or homelessness is necessary but successful candidates will need to demonstrate that they have strong customer service and organisational skills which are essential to carry out this role successfully.



This post is temporary until the end of March .
